Rheochem Research Note – June 2008
April 2008
We are pleased to introduce an interesting new opportunity from our associated fund management company, Newland Fund Management LLP, who are launching a new natural resources based realization fund. Grafton Resource Investments Limited is looking to acquire “orphan” assets from within the natural resource sector, which will be pooled into an actively managed realisation fund with a five year life. Grafton will acquire these assets by way of “share swaps”.
Grafton will be managed by David Hutchins and Kjeld Thygesen, two of the most experienced natural resource fund managers in the sector, with over 60 years experience between them.
In the current market environment, Grafton offers an opportunity for institutions to rationalise their portfolios but still maintain exposure to the natural resource sector, through an actively managed portfolio with a greater spread of assets and potentially greater liquidity.
A copy of the Grafton presentation is available and both David and Kjeld are available for meetings over the next few weeks.
This investment is for Institutional interest only and not for private investors.
